Whangarei Rape Crisis
Whangarei Rape Crisis (WRC) is a NGO (non-government organisation) whom is about to celebrate 40 years of operation in Northland. WRC is a sexual harm specialist organisation and the principal provider of free and confidential social services support by qualified staff for those survivors/individuals and/or whanau whose lives have been affected by sexual violation. We provide a 24/7 Crisis-Line support service for all gender identifications.
WRC require the services of a proactive Kaiarahi with local knowledge and contacts who can engage effectively with survivors and their whanau to support, advocate and manaaki.
The role will include but is not limited to providing services encompassing working alongside both Maori and non-Maori survivors in a solution-focused practice and be consultative, collaborative, and holistic with the ability to apply sound knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles within delivery of that service.
- A minimum of Level 4 Mental Health and Addictions Certificate
- Have no criminal convictions for sexual crimes, crimes relating to personal violence or crimes relating to dishonesty.
- Police vetting required.
- Full clean drivers’ licence.
Previous work in the sexual violation field maybe advantageous however a willingness to adapt and learn with emotional intelligence is beneficial.
