refit and repair specialists providing ship survey, repair and refit on a varied range of marine vessels.

The Role

The main objectives for the Painter / Abrasive Blaster role will be:

  • Perform all activities which pertain to the removal and application of internal and external
    protective coating systems on the surfaces of marine vessels
  • Ultra-high pressure blasting of vessels
  • Repairing and cleaning surfaces prior to application of specified coatings
  • Preparation and application of paint
  • Equipment maintenance
  • Adhere to onsite health and safety requirements
  • Applicants should have a valid, full NZ driver’s licence, and at least two contactable referees.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience and skills:

  • Skill in the preparation and application of paints to different types of surfaces
  • Skill in estimating time and material requirements of work projects assigned
  • Build and support effective working relationships
  • Physically fit
  • Attention to detail
  • Effective and efficient communication skills
  • Ability to clean, tidy and organise
  • Advanced problem solving skills
  • Strong organisation and planning skills
  • Adheres to principles and values
  • Can follow instructions and procedures
  • Effective and efficient time management skills
  • A high level of written and oral English language
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Demonstrate sound work ethics
  • 4+ years of experience in a painting and high pressure blasting role
  • Be experienced in working and behaving in an effective Health and Safety culture Desirable

  • EWP
